Ministry of Baptism
The Catholic laity has their own part to play in the mission of the whole Christian people in the Church and in the world. The laity can also be called to cooperate with their pastor in the service of the ecclesial community for the sake of its growth and life. This can be done through the exercise of different kinds of ministries. One of the ministries at St. Leo the Great is the ministry of Baptism.
THE BAPTISM TEAM
The team consists of Father Charles, our pastor, Brenda Beriault, coordinator, and team members.
The team assists Father Charles in the preparation for Baptism. The coordinator schedules the dates for the Baptismal meetings and Baptisms and presides over the Baptismal meetings. All the team members assist Father at the actual Baptism in order that the day is a special event in our church and in the lives of the Baptismal candidates and their families.
Both the Baptism instructional meetings in the parish hall and the Baptisms in the church are held once a month.
