What is R.C.I.A.?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the program utilized in Roman Catholic parishes to welcome and instruct potential future Catholics.  In other words, if you want to become a Catholic, R.C.I.A. is for you.

How long is the R.C.I.A. program at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Parish in Brooklin, Ontario?

The course begins September 25th, 2010 and will end three or four weeks after the Easter celebration.

Is there a cost?

To cover materials, pay instructors and other items there is a cost of $50 dollars per person.

How do I sign up?

Call the parish office at 905 – 655 -3286 and ask to put your name on the list for the next session. You will be asked to pick up a registration form.  Fill this in and return it as soon as possible.

What will I need for the first day?

A Bible, paper and a pencil/pen. We do the rest.

Is there anything I need to do in the meantime?

Yes. If you were baptised you will need to provide the office will a photocopy of your baptismal certificate.  If you can not find your original copy, obtaining a copy should not be too difficult.  Contact the church where you were baptised and ask to have them either mail it to you or possibly fax it to St. Leo’s (fax #:905-655-4519).
